Summer 2011

Wow. What a busy summer.
We spent most of it on vacation or playing pool.

Christina watched Zachary and Caleb while Mike and I took
Dusty and Lakota on a Deep Sea Fishing Trip.
We all had a lot of fun!
Riding like this makes you feel like,
"I'm King of the world!"

We caught quite a few fish.
Mostly Sea Bass.  yumm!!!
Mike and Lakota cleaned them, and we had
fish feast for 2 days.
On our way down we stopped at the store.
Mike left the sunroof cracked open.
As we were getting on the highway one of the boys
said, "FROG!"
What!?  A frog was on the sunroof and right then jumped into
the car on Mikes head.  All of us were screaming and
trying to catch the frog while Mike tried to keep the car
on the road. Finally it jumped on the window by Lakota
and he was on his way to a night in our hotel room.
Yes.  They kept him overnight,
promising to let him go first thing in the morning.
To which I swore that if woke up with the
frog anywhere on me, I would personally
strangle them.
They are so lucky that didn't happen!
Poor frog climbing the wall!
We also went bowling that night.
I am 'K' because even tho the boys have known me
since BIRTH, they still spell my name wrong.
We also took a week long trip to the Keys.
This trip included Christina, Zachary, Caleb and Christina's
friend Chelsea as well as Lakota and Dusty.
We found a cute little house in Key Largo to rent.
It had a little canoe to paddle around the water ways.

There was a friendly Manatee that came up and made
friends with Lakota.

Everyone enjoyed hanging their feet over our dock
until an alligator swam up to them! Too bad I couldn't
get a picture of it.  But that was the last time they
swam or hung their feet over the edge.
Because there was 8 of us Chelsea brought her car along.
Its a Mini Cooper and she didn't want to drive so Christina
got to be the main driver of it.
Mike had to work so the 7 of us drove the mini cooper
to go snorkeling.
Yes. 7 of us in a mini cooper.
When we got out we looked like a bunch of clowns
getting out of a tiny car.  People stared at us.
It was so funny!
We all had fun snorkeling. Although it was a bit windy.
Robbie and several of his Navy buddies joined us as well.
(he is stationed in Key West in the Navy. Why can't
Leonard get that!!??)
We caught several fish in the waterway, but
nothing worth bragging about. Here they are
cleaning one we caught.
Zacharys 10 birthday was at the Keys.

Right after we got back home Christina, Lakota and Dusty
spent the day at Disney World.
And when we werent on vacation,
our house was full of neighbor boys hanging out.
And playing pool or Ping Pong with our new cat Bugs.

We let their friends spend the night, because whats
a few more boys in a houseful already?
They all have DS's and are able to sync them and
play the same games. Technology is so awesome!
It may have been celebrated a week late, but
Zachary still enjoyed it.
He got lots of Lego things to build.
Even more legos!
Zachary doesn't care much about Legos,
but guess who does?
Caleb woke up the next day and put this together first thing.
Space shuttle! There are also "rovers" somewhere
around here that he built.
Lakota and Dusty left the end of July, but our vacations
didn't stop.  We headed out last week for Delray Beach.
We swam for hours in the ocean, and for the first
time EVER the boys got sunburned because I forgot sunscreen.
Not bad, but enough that they peeled a little.
We took them Mini Golfing. I got 2 holes in ones.
No ones did! teehee!
Finally! A day to myself!
So I took Frank car/jeep shopping.
He got an awesome 2011 red Wrangler.
Now he can drive us to the beach!
We are really missing "our" Big Boys.
It was a lot of fun having Lakota and Dusty
here for the month. They even helped out
with all the household chores.
Guess we just have to put our "little" boys
to work now!
School starts on Monday and we just are not ready for it!
Summer went by way too fast.
The only thing good about it being over is that we can
go back to eating homemade food and not crappy
restaurant or store bought.
Be sure to check my food blog once in awhile because
I am really taking this homemade no processed store bought
 thing and running with it.
Homemade butter, ricotta cheese, yogurt, mayo,
and mozzerella are on the list for the next week or two.
And thats just the beginning!
Hope your summer was an enjoyable one too!
