Einstien

Einstien
A tribute to our much beloved cat.
We got Einstien and his siblings in July 2008.
They were so tiny that we had to feed them
from a bottle. But Einstien quickly grew.
He was a very large cat. And I do not mean fat!
Einstien could open the doors and windows in our house.
If the sliding glass door was unlocked he could grab it
with his paws and slide it open.
If the windows were unlatched he could lift them.

He loved getting into bags.
And even let you carry him all over the house.
Einstien loved getting under blankets.
He'd sit and wait for you to come over then jump out at you.

Whatever room we were in, he was in with us.
He was so tall that he could stand on the floor and
rest his head on top of our couch.
One of Einstiens favorite things to do was jump up
on Mikes shoulder. All Mike had to do was
pat his chest and say "Up." Einstien would
then jump up on his shoulder and snuggle with him.
He loved sleeping between Mikes legs.

He loved going under stuff and poking his head out.

When Mike said "Lets go for a drive", Einstien took it seriously.

He would let anyone hold him.
I think he thought he was one of us.
Every time I would do laundry, he would
come over and lay on the clothes.
 He loved playing with Elektra.
They liked looking for the laser light.
And she would 'read' stories to him.
Einstien loved attacking his brother Zeeb.
He was such a good cat and a smart one.
Thursday night, March 31st we noticed that Einstien
was not himself and seemed very sick.
We took him to the vet Friday morning. The vet
gave him antibiotics and an IV. Then he sent us home with
oral antibiotics. We thought when we left on Sat for
our trip, that he would be all better by the time we got home.
Unfortunately that was not to be.  Einstien passed away
from what the vet thinks was some kind of poisoning.
Maybe a poisonous frog, or antifreeze.
He would of been 3 in June.
We buried him in his favorite blanket, and created
this garden for him.
Every morning birds come and play in his bird bath.

R.I.P. Einstien.  We love you.
We miss you.
